Annual Interfaith Community Thanksgiving Gathering

For the past ten years an ecumenical group of clergy and their faith communities have gathered to celebrate what is good and hopeful in our fair city. The gathering is hosted by one the participating congregations and many of the clergy participate in the creative and inspiring proceedings.

This all began with the formation of the “Downtown Clergy Group” which meets for lunch on the first Tuesday of the month, September thru June. It didn’t take long for this small group to redefine and expand the boundries of downtown Beaumont to include just about the entire city. Temple Emanuel has been a part of the Downtown Clergy Group since the beginning.

Every year, the Interfaith Thanksgiving Gathering collects food and monetary donation to support the work of the Southeast Texas Food Bank and Some Other Place.
